"Inspiration"
Ray Byram is known for working in a variety of genres, styles and media from abstract to surreal to neo-realism. Each serigraph that Byram produces involves a tedious process in which he hand-separates each color directly from the painting and then hand pulls the images. This involved process takes 4 to 5 months to complete an edition. Byram has received many national and international awards for his works, which include a myriad of private and corporate collections worldwide.
Artist's Statement: : My Paintings are driven from my feelings, attitudes and observations of the lives and scenes around me. These facets of life are put together in abstract or impressionist formats. The enclosed works represent this philosophy with a series of abstract paintings as reflected in a theme of: Earth, Water, Wind and Sky. The use of complimentary colors reinforces my views on the times in which we live. It is a pleasure to paint and pass on what I have learned by teaching in the Cary Arts Center at Jordan Hall and at the Cary Senior Center. Paintings are meant to be enjoyed by the viewer. It is my goal to provide enjoyment.
